Today in the world of visuals we are surrounded by graphics at every turn. Most people feel they have developed a visual knowledge, but is this enough for all to feel they are design critics? Most designers have learnt their trade by visual practice, educating themselves and a lot of trial and error through hands on experience and creative thinking.

Design is more than the general public see. The conceptual development, dummy runs and experiments is what true design means to every designer. When non-designers start art directing the creative process there can be contradicting idealism’s. The beauty of that white space percentage and the delicate selection of that perfect typeface can be overseen by non-designers.

Design requires an investment of time and a quick critic is devaluing the art in the design field. Simplicity, art and meaning should all be valued. In this new era of fast paced social media, the world is getting impatient. Design needs to grow, to develop, be refined along the process. Our creativity is being zapped out from quick critic and unawareness to the beauty of good clear design. Brands are defined and brought to life by the designers knowledge and expertise.
